    De plus en plus d'allergies alimentaires chez les jeunes japonais

Une recente etude publiee dans la revue Allergology International conclue que le nombre de jeunes japonais presentant une allergie alimentaire est en augmentation, et que cette tendance se poursuivra vraisemblablement, particulierement chez les femmes. Bien que les allergenes alimentaires varient selon la race, l'environnement, les habitudes alimentaires et l'age des individus, aucune donnee n'etait disponible sur ceux auxquelles la jeunesse nipponne est sensible. Selon des chercheurs de l'universite de Showa a Tokyo. 5,2% des etudiants des universites japonaises sont aujourd'hui concernes. Les principaux aliments allergenes sont, par ordre d'importance decroissante : l'oeuf, le sarrasin, la crevette, le crabe, le maquereau, le lait, l'igname, la graisse bovine et les mollusques. La sensibilite au sarrasin et aux fruits de mer est notamment plus prononcee que dans les pays occidentaux. Les chercheurs ont egalement etudie dans quelle mesure les allergies de 2 053 etudiants etaient aggravees par d'autres maladies. Il est apparu que 48,2% des etudiants presentant une allergie alimentaire souffraient egalement de rhinite allergique, 29% de dermatite atopique (eczema) et 12,1% d'asthme bronchial. Les auteurs de l'etude suggerent que des mesures soient prises rapidement pour freiner cette evolution inquietante.

La règlementation japonaise est un peu "opaque" puisque les textes en anglais sont très peu nombreux:

Cependant, les textes sont basiquement articulés autours de la Japan Food Sanitation Law: HACCP obligatoire, traçabilité, etc.

Le problème ce que les normes à respecter sont noyées dans les textes i.e. Les Handbooks / Guides dispo en ligne.

De plus, les différentes Préfectures conservent une certaine autonomie en matière d'analyses (échantillonnages) et de standards... Le mieux est bien sur de discuter avec son acheteur japonais pour obtenir les standards... ou de comparer ses info avec les standards en place pour ne pas se faire avoir sur des exigences par trop strictes (negatif V. para / 25 g ou négatif (!!!) Coliformes totales / g dans des crevettes crues!!).

J'attendais que des listiers jetent un oeil sur les doc et nous fassent un commentaire.

En tous cas, c'est en effet la politique au Japon (il y a une liste de produits chimiques non-autorisés = 800, testés lors de l'import au Japon).

Aprés les multiples cas de pollution chimique (Minamata, bien sur) et de sécurité alimentaire (ESB, etc.), les Japonais sont devenus trés stricts, le problème c'est que les importateurs japonais vont souvent plus loin et ne prennent même pas le temps de comprendre le vrai risque.
